Saturday Academy

The leadership programme promotes and develops the ethos of the Academy: listening to the boys' accounts of the ups and downs of their week, celebrating triumphs, discussing ways of avoiding conflict and learning to take responsibility for problems when they occur.

The boys learn twelve leadership traits (See About Us) which they can use to help make positive choices.

They take part in drill sessions which teach physical coordination, self-awareness and cooperation in an atmosphere of mutual respect. Also:

• Listening, speaking and writing skills

• Maths, science and general knowledge

• Games and sports

The acceptance of self-discipline is a key factor in all we do. We provide realistic boundaries which enable the young leaders to behave appropriately at school, at home and in the wider community.
